When your item is complete, you can submit if for approval to a pre-defined chain of approvers, or approvers that you choose.

Step 1:

Go to the item screen for the subject meeting.

Step 2:

Above the item title, find the Submit for Approval button.

If the item has already been submitted for approval, the button label will be either Take Action / View Approvals or just View Approvals.
If it has already been submitted, it cannot be submitted again.


Step 3:

Click the button to display the Submit Item for Approval box.

Step 4:

Click the drop-down list to display the approval chains that are defined for your account.

 

If any approval chains are defined, they will be listed in the Client-Defined Chains section.

If you want to use a defined chain…

Step 5:

Choose the chain you want to submit the item to from the list.

You can leave the chain as it is defined or you can add and remove approvers to it.

To remove a user from the chain (for this item only) click the red X next to the approver name.

To add a user to the chain, click the drop-down list in the Required, Not In-Sequence group and select the approver you want to add. You can select as many approvers as you want to add.

Step 6:

Click the Submit for Approval button.

If you want to build your own chain (for this item only)…

Step 5:

Choose Empty Chain from the list.

Step 6:

Click the drop-down list in the Required, Not In-Sequence group and select the approver you want to add. You can select as many approvers as you want to add.

Step 7:

Click the Submit for Approval button.
